huh Pk (pkm, sg43) series belt in 1919

Has anyone ever tried, seen or heard of loading 7.62*51 round in a pk series (non disintegrating link) belt? Would it work, how well did it or affect the rate of fire? (In the 1919a4)Even though the belt is designed for the 7.62*54r round, the 7.62*51 can fit in the belt. Any thoughts or feed back would be appreciated, thanks

Unfortunately the spacing between the cartridges is too long to feed properly. I imagine that If the Feed lever is modified they would feed a Maxim/SG43/PK metallic belt.
