My first try at uploading a pic. "The Kid" formed up and welded our first trial M3 tripod center today. I'll turn a center bushing and make solid leg ends tomorrow.

We'll work on the RPD project in the winter. We might not have access to the CNC laser and CNC press brake for a lot longer so we moved making M3 tripods and MK93 shockmounts to the top of the pile. I should finish up a couple 1919 RSPs in two weeks and then rivet and acutally SHOOT something.

Nice. But where's the front tripod leg going to go Karl?:bucktooth:

That will be a separate "U" shape piece welded to this unit. Fairly simple design. We plan to just make the front leg kick out to 45 degrees and fold back.

Each of the legs will have a solid end 1.375 square, then turned round to fit 1.25 I.D. tubing. I'm making these pieces and the pintle bushing this weekend. "The Kid" will make the second gneration unit this week.

I'm still cogitating on the best pintle latch design. After that,we'll knock out 50 or so tripod center units. its best to have a few spares.
