Ok,
Heres some pics of the very first backpack dubbed "Predator".The name basically came from the movie Predator where Jesse Ventura is walking through the jungle lugging a mini-gun and has a cool ammo backpack strapped to his back. :D
Now we've all dreamed "how cool it would be to have that" so one of our forum members said I need-want-gotta have that!
The idea here is to have a portable walking tripod instead of using a heavy fixed positioned ground tripod. This tripod walks....

So lets get a few pics of how it all went together.... :D

Our forum member supplied this cool XM-23 Helicopter gunship ammo can.Its made out of aluminum and is pretty light! The can I'm guessing holds @400 rounds. 8)

*Sorry for the bads pics ahead*

Here I'm making a custom ammo can cradle. This cradle when all finished is going to bolt up to our rucksack frame.

In this pic I just finished up the ammo can frame.
---Put on some sun glasses cause I forgot to turn off the camera flash.---

Here I'm just test fitting the ammo can and installed some small bunjee cords to keep the can secure.

Heres a shot of the rucksack frame we will be using.

In this shot you can see where I welded little tabs onto the ammo can cradle. These will allow me to bolt it directly to the rucksack frame.

Heres the upper tab placement.Total of 3 tabs were need to keep this rig secure. 8)

After everything is welded and checked its time to put some OD paint on it! :D

Heres what Predator I looks like when all completed....

Setup for .308

This is a more compact system compared to the Annialator system.

A forum member/backpack owner trying it on for the first time.... :D

The sling balances the weight of the 1919 onto your shoulder to where its not that bad to carry. :D

Everything fits nicley and the flex feed chute clears the left arm pretty good.Your looking at 40" inches of flex feed chut by the way.

These XM-23 ammo can lids are awesome!I love the clear lexan see through windows at the top! :D

Looks like he's all ready, just needs someone to throw grenades at him! :D

Hey found a couple of places offering backpack sized ammo cans that they used to use on military vehicles... I think they are eastern block because they are sized for 8mm... I think I might pick one... Are you making the mount to mount the feed shoot to on the cans RH

Hey Kali
I'm not sure if the 8mm will fit in 30-06 chuting but It won't fit in the .308 chuting I tried it.
.308 chuting is hard to find the 30-06 stuff is even harder.
How much are they asking for the cans?
Who has them?

Yeah Blk Humvee... I was looking at this 8mm can for possible use for .308 and it should be easy enough to stretch it out to 30-06 as well with a filler piece the price is right...

I'll send you the link to the can 1919_4_ME after I get that other project I'm supposed to be working on for you done... hopefully by tomorrow I'm so slammed on work right now... If these cans work you might want to pick up a couple they look somewhat managable from a backpack situation...

Arghh... Ya know I knew it was two good to be true... It was OOW that it was on... And guess what they are updating there prices what was once 50.00 now has a 1 in front of the 50.00 Dammit Dammit Dammit... I knew something was up when they have the two BAR's on there website the same price on the wood one as the Bakelite stocked one... I'm sure I saw another can somewhere else someone had I'll start looking for that one... 150 is that two much for something like that...
