I LOVE the "oldies"!
Here's a Balaster Molina->

A VZ50 showing some of my 100gr "custom" loads at the bottom of the stack for comparison against a standard 71gr FMJ load ->

My Enfield #5 (from both sides) ->

And a couple of "shorty" Mosins - a T53 on top and a chopped down Sako 28/30 on the bottom->
http://www.drinkfromthefirehose.com/images/Mosins.jpg
I cut the Sako down because I got it for $15 off of an "as is" pile and the last 2 inches of the bore had been TOTALLY destroyed, so I cut it to 20 inches (the same length as an M44) and re-welded the cleaning rod tip back on.
I still need to shoot a photo of my Ishapoor Enfield some time... It's in the very back of the vault and is a pain to drag out.

I really like that laminated M44! If I ever find one for a decent deal, I’ll get one even though I already have a couple Mosins.
Here’s a few more that I finally got pix of->

PolyTech type 56 (all milled & unissued)

Ishapoor Enfield (.308)

Enfield #5 (my second one I recently found)

Enfield #4 (Gibbs .45-70 conversion), yeah this one sort-of doesn’t count, but I like it.

Hopefully someday I’ll find an FN49 and a Hakim (that I can afford).

I passed up on a really nice FN49 at the last Orange County show the price was insane (I won't tell you because I don't wanna take any shit from you guys....) Plus it was super clean I couldn't believe it... The cleanest one I've seen in years and I passed...

This was one of my favorites. It was a vet bring back, complete with original 1916 dated harness, a friend bought it of a truck driver hauling lumber for his collection, he had it for some 15 years, I had it for 10, someday I will have another one.

Gee... I don't know Dan... I think I'd need a an even dozen garands... What are your makes and markin's on those...
Dan Wilson
11-12-2007, 05:25 PM
All the Garands are Springfield Armory, no special stamps on the wood other than a couple of RIA EB
Hell I am shooting for a COUPLE dozen Garands before they run out

Well I have one shooter I rebuilt thats Springfield but I gotta have at least one of each make so I'm shooting for a Winchester or and H&R next... There like 1919's oh so adicting but I could think of worse nasty habits... :coffee:

One of each maker is on my list, but for the most part they will be run of the mill SA's, much more affordable, that way I can meet my goal of an even hundred of them
