Huey Communications Helmet...
Got this from a friend that wore it in country while in Vietnam... He was giving it away at our club meeting last night and I figured that it would be something neat to hold onto rather than a member grabbing it for there kid and tearing it up... He told me to grab it before someone else could. I hate to take someones old gear like that it kinda reminds me of The Dead Cowboy syndrome... but he knows it has a good home...

Hell I might even use it for a communications headset for the gunner in back of the M37... Now I just have to find the rest of the system...

That's cool! Doubly so because it has a history you can relate to.

I used to have an old comm set from Viet Nam. I could never get it to work right. I thought maybe it was bad wiring or something.

BTW, if you want to spruce it up, order a new liner/straps, whatever, you might try here: http://www.flighthelmet.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=FHL&Category_Code=FHAC It looks like they have the adapters to convert to civvy-style plugs as well.
