its a pain in the ass, but can be done. before my belt loader my girlfriend would load my belts while i was at work :big:. it would take her FOREVER, but she could do it. the belt loaders just the way to go. it will save you an hour, sore forearms, and battered fingers on just 500 rounds. worth the few hundred $$$. picked mine up for $150 if i recall correctly.

Just a warning: The PKM loaders will NOT load metal Maxim belts. The belt is about a millimeter too wide to fit through the PKM loader guides.

This loader runs the maxim belts just fine which seem to be the same belts that go with the pkm(correct me if im wrong) i dont have my pkm kit operable... waiting on semi conversion out there. This loader does a good job on the smaller belts for the rpd series as well:bucktooth:

I have never seen a PKM belt. Is that one in your photo?
If you look in my second photo you can clearly see the Maxim belt, which is quite different than the belt shown in your photo.

Where did you get your loader?

Your maxim belt reminds me of some belts i got once for the mg42. Are you sure they are not cech belts made for the what they call M53? Well I guess they coulddnt be as that is an 8mm cartridge. They kinda look like what my buddy runs in his 08/15 but those are turkish aluminum belts. Yep my belts are all ruski and interchange between the maxim, the pkm, and the sgm/sg43. If you bought a belt like mine i bet it would fit your loader. try copes distributing. My loader came from private sales. although someone in arizona is selling them as well i think. google up pkm belt loader or mabey try rpd belt loader....

Mine is def a WWII style Maxim belt. Came in a Russian can and it works in my SG43. Also have an M53, so know what those belts look like...

Got my loader from the guy in Arizona (Eastbloc Imports).

RPD belt loader? Good luck... That is one reason I am interested in your loader, because you said it could be use to load RPD belts.

Thanks for the info,

Tim
