ATF: Barber Shop Doubled As Gun Shop

(CBS 3) PHILADELPHIA Federal authorities raided a Center City barber shop and discovered an alleged illegal gun dealing operation.
Early Friday, ATF agents raided Kazoo's Barbershop and agents said they pulled out a .223 caliber assault rifle and 60 rounds of ammunition.
"A .223 caliber rifle is the type of weapon used by military personnel, hunters also use them but you rarely see it used in Center City, Philadelphia for legal purpose," said John Hageman of the ATF.
The barbershop is located at 11th and Chestnut and according to the ATF; undercover agents have been investigating owner Victor Lawson, 46, since August.
The ATF said Lawson was often spotted by undercover agents cutting hair with a gun strapped to his waist. Lawson was arrested on Friday morning.
"Our undercover agent was actually in the barbershop just Thursday negotiating the purchase of a couple of firearms," said Hageman.
In addition to the rifle found at the shop, the ATF said agents also recovered a .45 caliber handgun from inside Lawson's Sickerville home.
"This is not a typical location for us to be investigating firearm possession or firearm trafficking but obviously, we follow the guns and they take us where they lead," said Hageman.
According to the ATF, Lawson has a prior conviction for robbery.
In Friday's arrest, he was charged with illegal possession of firearms and agents expect more charges and more arrests.
