Hello, new to this forum; I have a question if someone could help.

My semi 1919 has a sleeve in the pintle bolt hole so it won't take a 9/16" bolt. I built it from an Izzy kit. Will I be able to push the sleeve out? Or is it supposed to be there and I don't understand something.

Any help would be appreciated.

Jeff

That sleeve is supposed to be in there... The original bolt was 9/16th's of an inch as you stated what occured over the years was the pintle bolt hole in the trunnion would loosen up so what the Israeli government did was open the hole up to 5/8th of an inch to clean it up and go to the next largest bolt size...

I have run into this where a pintle hole has been resleeved and sometimes a 9/16th of inch bolt will not fit because they drove the sleeve in or did not open the hole up to 5/8th of inch before they drove the sleeve in... So what your going to have to do is get a 9/16 of inch drill bit and drill from both sides and then just clean it up with a rat tail file so your bolt will go through... Sometimes there is also a mal alignment when building that the pintle pad on the left is not aligned with the right... That also will keep the bolt from going through...

Yep +1, as that's what I had to do with my Allied gun..

Thanks very much. Mine does look a little dinged up. I bought some 9/16 drill rod to make a punch to drive the sleeve out. I'll just make a tapered plug instead and drive it through to try and round everything out.

Thanks again.
