headspacing video

Well... The theory is right... But there are much easier ways to do it... He was doing it with the Izzy Spring out of the gun... Which a lot of people prefer to do it that way I do the spring conversion on my izzy springs and just do it the quick and dirty method...
Now what I do not agree on is that he is headspacing on a dummy cartridge depending on the ammo your using your dummy cartridge could be a different spec' in relation to the ammo you will be consuming on the firingline and that could pose as a problem... To do it correctly with the ammo you are going to use in the gun pull the firing pin and headspace on the live cartridge... Let me emphasize for the folks that think I'm crazy pull the firing pin...:big:

Overall I think the videos a good contribution I won't knock it I know my headspace tutorial is probibly a little confusing but I hope its helped more than hindered...

Wow, seems to me not only is it wrong but its a hell of a lot of work to headspace.

Bottom the barrel in the barrel extension
let bolt go forward
unscrew barrel a notch at a time until the bolt locks home
unscrew barrel two more notches

And what the hell is he using a cartridge to headspace for?

1) headspace

b) in Browning machine guns the headspace is adjusted by obtaining the proper distance between the forward part of the bolt and the rear of the barrel.



The cartridge doesn't even enter into it unless you get some of the east block 8 mm with short cases and you cant headspace that out.

But hey, if that works for that guy, go for it.
