So Im about to jump on Pirates group buy and I started looking for 80% sideplates. Couldnt find em anywhere so I went to Gunbroker........one guy has one listed with a buy it now of 375 dollars! What the hell is going on! Theres also a 100% plate thats in the same price range. Ive heard the ATF put a scare into someone about these plates but have they really dried up?
I REALLY dont want to have to bring this thing in thru a FFL dealer, because trying to explain a sideplate to a 1919 will freak most anybody out in my part of NY.
This may be the deciding factor on this purchase, so leme know....

Ohio Rapid Fire sells 80% plates, they are not too bad for 110 bucks.
Dont bother spending the extra 30 bucks for the engraving - its a joke.
