A few spy photo's of the New MG42 Ground Tripod Adapters that will be available for your 1919. This one is just a tester to see how everything works for now and it uses the remote firing linkage which will make shooting your 1919 alot easier.:green: I'll take a few daytime pics hopefully by tomorrow so you guys can critique it.

A few things on this one:
*Twin can design (Holds Belts and collects your links)
*Uses remote firing linkage
*Will collect you spent brass by putting a bucket underneath it
*Allows full treverse and elevation using the T&E mechanism
*Adapter clips right onto the MG42 Tripod without any mods
*Adapter uses the built-in recoil system
*Link chute
*Custom Belt feed chute

Cool - Rich the Master Fabricator !!!!!

Damm - I'm going to have buy one of those tripods now and have him build me a ANM2 model. Just joking.

Thanks Roger,
Yea with these tripods being so cheap and plentiful I figured why not make an adapter for these as I'm always getting asked for them and never had any to offer over the years. I'll have these at the our SoCal Beltfed Shoot for anyone who wants to drop there 1919 in it to try it out. I'm thinking this will be a fun adapter to use especially using the remote trigger extension. :coffee:

Rich

Whats going to be the damages on one of these bad boys ? (For a 1919). The reason I'm asking is that my neighbor at the Big Sandy has this tripod and a Transferable MG42, that he let me and my son shoot (After I let his wife shoot my ANM2). Anyways, my son was a half dozen sticks of Dynomite with that tripod. He could be talked in getting one of these (as long as DAD pays for it).

Roger

PS: package arrived just now

Roger,
These Adapters will be $325 shipped and have (5) of them being built as we speak. These adapters are definitley alot of work to build and are a little tricky especially when doing the trigger extension, its gotta be just right or it will not work correctly. If you have a F/A 1919 this will be the ultimate tripod Adapter to have.:green:

Bad Ass the past few times I've played with it...

So how do you zero the periscope to your gun...

1919_4_ME
03-04-2009, 08:17 AM
Looks good! And I cant believe they sent an "HK" marked tripod for $200.:shock1: That thing is brand spankin new. To zero the scope the easy way you can just drop a laser bore sighter in the end of your booster and point it across the street then adjust your scope till it gets right on the laser dot. This will get you kinda close to start out at (Minute of Car).

Well I did it, I went and ordered the tripod with scope. Well better that I buy gun stuff than something silly like health insurance, lol
I hope I am looking at it correctly, the T&E comes with it right?

1919_4_ME
03-04-2009, 10:09 AM
Urban,
It sure does come with the T&E. Hey I just ordered another one cuz I couldnt take it anymore and when I called the lady told me it was a misprint and there suppose to be listed at $249.95. I told her I was looking at it on there site for $199 and she wasnt going to give it to me at that price so I said no thanks and then she put me on hold and came back and said she was going to talk to the owner. I said no problem I'll just order it from your shopping cart system then for $199. So she said ok I'll give sell it to you for $199 with the scope but she said there going to change that ad real quick so I would suggest if you guys want to get one get it off there site before they change the price to $249...
*Also in a little bit I will have a few more different adapters for this type of tripod so get it while the gettin is good...

ill have to keep an eye on my cred card statement and make sure they didnt charge me more than supposed to. I got the receipt from online order, so if they do ill protest it to the CC company so i aint worried about it. Besides, even at 250 i think its definately worth it, their grading system did this pod no justice. hell it came in a sealed heavy plastic type bag and wrapped in brown paper with german print on it saying W.Bosch+co.

even the wife said "that was a good purchase" :shock1:

as far as zeroing the scope, from what ive seen so far the scope has a ring with number on it that make the sight post go up and down, and then theres a dial on the bottom of the T/E that gives adjustment of the angle of the gun on the pod = so thats my guess on how to get it zero'ed in - but i need to play with it more to find out what all these little things do. Im still finding new things on how this thing works. It came with 2 battery things and one has a hookup for the scope, not sure what it does becuase the batts are dead and i dont know if they are chargeable or what.

Hey Gunner 50 sure thing heres a few more different angles of the BFS Twin Mount. Its a piece of cake to get it all mounted up and you can see how the springs attach which keeps the entire mount level like its floating so you never feel the weight of the guns on your shoulders.

What is the U shaped box for, the scope?

I wonder if the numbers ( 0-16) move independently from the retical with the ring on the outside of the ocular lens? Meters I am guessing.

GUNRUNNER5150
03-05-2009, 11:02 AM
the numbers on the inside of the scope move with the numbers on the outside ring. looking thru the scope - the number in the 6 oclock position is the number the outside ring is set on. Also, when i turn the numbered ring the reticle goes up or down for some kind of yardage settings.

yep, the U shaped case is for the scope

Roger,
Unfortunetly I wont them ready in time but are working hard to bring up the rest of the adapter line. I wish though I would have made up my mind in time so I could bring up the rest of the Heavy adapters but I'm running out of time...:abused1:

How do you get the elevation to work on one of these pods ? The big disc doesn't want to turn. Feels like its locked.

GUNRUNNER5150
02-17-2010, 11:27 PM
Hey R,

first thing to check is the elevation lock. On top of the big disc is a smaller disc which has a set of "dog ears" coming off the top of it - pull up on those ears and the small disc should snap up and unlock the elevation gear.

The small disc is actually really cool, it can lock the elevation solid, or you can set limits on how much elevation you can play with. On top of the small disc there are two flat peices that can be moved to set limits on fine elevation.

Just takes some time playing with that pod to figure out all the features to it, the more i find the more i wish i bought 2 of the damned things :bucktooth:

We should toss R Jr's 1919 on my mg3/adapter @ sandy and see how he likes the set up.
