ok, im still not all the way done with this one....
need some stuff to finish my FCG but other than that its all done. Yes i stuck the trigger and safety back in it just for shits and giggles.... it looks stupid with out them even in my garage floor.
its been at this stage for almost a year now and there wasnt any build tutorial as i went, just weld, grind, test fit, weld, grind, test fit..... continue.
getting all the parts on this bad boy to line up and work with the hack job that was done was not easy.
got a spare barrel shroud from Omega a couple of years ago, as mine was torched on BOTH ENDS..
then got a spare threaded section from Sarco that had most of the threads in it.
this required a lot of work to match up and thin out the front end exactly right in those threads and the WLA thread repair section wasnt out yet. so lots of cursing and grinding went into this along with a ton of welding to get it all strong and solid.
the denial pins were no big deal, just locate drill and inset pins, then weld up and grind off..
same for the bolt carrier blocker: weld up about 1" in the front so that a FA bolt carrier wont fit, then adjust your carrier to fit.
the bolt work was done by a good friend of mine as was the firing pin.
the lower was milled out and just waiting to see what the FCG set up will be, with the shortness of this lower most of the FCG's we use (870& such) are just too tall. but a hybrid set up may still be okay. this is the only hold up right now.
enough talk here's the pix.
