you might think about building a linker... liberatorcrew.com website has a nice plan for one... Also I'm in the process of building Slicks slick simple belt loader...

Don't know why artificially high supply and demand.... :bounce:

I was looking at Lib-crew's plans.. I might check into Slick's - a simple one is all I'll need..

It just seems $125+ is alot of what they really are.. Maybe I'm wrong, after all building linkers is not my profession, Im sure people say I make to much money for what I do also... Who knows..

Slicks is actually a belt loader so if you have cloth belts go that route... A few of the guys over on 1919a4 make basically what Slick made but a little more machining involved... for a hell of a lot more money... You know I live by one priciple the more simple and basic the better... So I'm in the process of building one of Slicks and I'm sure that will be the only one I will ever need however if I have an extra 1000 to blow I might buy a belt loader...

Laminatrap makes a good 10 round linker for right around 100 bucks and Scott Cousiono ah crap I can spell someone correct me on that one... His is a 25 round link Slick has a review of that I believe still on his website somewhere if you search around...

I am going to build the one from Liberatorcrews website I'd rather have something to piddle around with in the shop... Keeps me busy and out of trouble.... :coffee:

Thanks for the info, I'll have to check some of those out..

I agree, the keep it simple theory always works best for me also..

I think the expense is related to the amount of machine work required and / or the time is takes to build either a linker or belt loader..

If you're *really* into the hobby - so to speak, it's a lot easier to justify spending a LOT of time to perfect an idea. When I pony-up the time to get a workable design, I try and share that information since I too have been the benefactor of valuable information needed to make a project happen.

For example, I'm a lever-action rifle fan and had bought a Rossi 92 SRC and needed to "slick it up" to bring its operation up to my expectations. I found a website where a fellow laid out the precise instructions for what I wanted to do. This saved me LOTS of time and made my job easy. I hope some of the information I post on my site helps others - then I will feel that I've had done "my part" in contributing knowledge.

Not yet... I would have gone a few times this year already (but haven't been able to) because my little lady had an accident and needed brain surgery. I'm hoping to get to go sometime in the next month or so (now that she's getting better) and I've got over half a dozen guns that I haven't even had a chance to fire yet. I'm chompin' at the proverbial bit!

Well your a good man Slick your hearts in the right place... I can only wish you both the best and she has a speedy recovery...

I sure wish I would have gotten one of those Gibbs rifles when they were available...

P.S. Shot my Enfield with my reloads... Nice... 24"barrel 4895 was a good choice... Pretty damned accurate from what I can tell that Savage Enfield only has 300 and 600 yard sights... Water Bottles beware....

Well I sure hope Guiness doesn't get that bad of a hang over...
Everyone have a Great St. Paddy's day weekend be safe and insane

I guess I can buy that, they do look to have a fair amount of machining and I'm sure there's not a lot of demand..

I'm sure there's not a lot of demand..

You've definitely "hit the nail on the head" with regards to the second half of why they're expensive... If everyone needed them, there'd be more manufacturers and better methods to suit higher production - which in turn would drop prices.
