My folks bought me the PACT dispenser / scale combo this past Christmas and they just *finally* filled the back-order. I’ve always been a “single-stage†reloader as I load for quality as opposed to volume and want better ammo than I can get from a factory – so I typically weigh ALL charges. I’d been thinking that an auto-trickler would probably be the single piece of equipment that could speed up my reloading process and I was right!
I haven’t had a chance to use it extensively yet, but am VERY pleased with the accuracy and operation of the unit so far. I run a press to seat bullets and a second press to crimp with (in separate operations), so letting the trickler do its thing while I seat & crimp is GREAT!!!
As soon as I finish a round, I’m ready to dump the next one and go again. The new-type dispenser from PACT is a lot faster than some I’d seen in the past (and wasn’t impressed with). One “negative†is that the dispenser takes a fair while to calibrate its charges, so it doesn’t “over shoot†on the weight. The other issue I noted is that I need to keep the dispenser & scale on a table separate from my press because of the sensitivity of the unit. I can’t really complain about that since it’s the fine accuracy of the scale that is reading vibration from operating my presses.
I will report more on this unit as I get to use it. They were on sale for only $199 shipped at Christmas – which is as good of deal as I’ve seen on such a setup. I think these are very worthwhile and would recommend the PACT to others. Watch for their sale price - which looks to be $219 (right now) vs. the regular $229
