Kali and Rich,

how do you guys use the set up for belt feds in your state?

hmm let me rephrase that:

with only 10 rnds linked at a time &Rich's nice set up of double can feed... are you allowed to just put a bunch of 10 rnd belts in there and then every 10th shot you gotta start a new belt?

so how do you get to shoot without stopping every 2 seconds?

and can you even have 10 rounds linked up? or do you have to use cloth belts cut all to pieces? just wondering, in case i come out that way....

Well... Whatever you do DO NOT BRING A HI-CAP MAG INTO CALIFORNIA This is an extreme NO NO... We can run magazines a couple of different ways...

1. A preban linked belt that never is burnt below it's hi-cap status...
2. Pre-Ban cloth belts for those of us that were fortunate enough to have them before the ban...

3. The last alternative is to not link more than 10 rounds at a time and if you want to run cloth you would have to have it cut to ten round capacity before it is posessed in this state...

Those are the rules thus far untill they decide to change them again...

The ammo cans make it very convienant to reload the 10 round linked belts there at gun height and you just reach in and reload... No Biggie
Helps stretch ammo a little further these days... :gaga:

so if you have a old cloth belt form WWII then you can actually load it all the way?

or do you have to leave a blank after 10?

If you possessed it prior to the ban, then load er up and blast away. BUT, if you aquire a belt after the ban was in place, it has to be physically cut not accept more than 10 rounds PER BELT. Just loading 10 rounds in a 100 round belt wont be legal if that belt can accept more rounds.

Its like, say i bought a 30 round mag in AZ, loaded 10 rounds in it - the mag can still hold more than the magical 10 number, which makes it illegal. :nono:

Only if i could have been born a few years ealier *sigh* im stuck with 10 round mags and a kommified AR15 - just waiting for its day in the desert and have its balls re-attached. :banghead:

ok following you so far.... which ban ws this? the 94 deal or the 86.....

and how would they prove that you didnt have them before hand? do i need some type of document? cause ive got some old WWII belts and if i came that way, ive got no proof that ive had or not had them for years.

First of all you can't bring them to California no matter what date they are Duti... The belts must have been possessed in California prior to the hi-cap mag ban which I believe was in 2000 :banghead:

So don't just do it...

When the Revolution comes, it won't do them any good to know when you bought or how you got the mags/belts anyway.

Yeah you go that right Von... Especially when there on the other side of the muzzle right.... :peep:

Which reminds me I need to start workin' on my shotgun reloads for my WIN 1300 defender... Never can have enough of that stuff in close quarters...

I have no intention of letting them get close enough for the Mossberg..my idea of stand-off is about 5000 meters. They can serve me papers from way back there.

so how do you get to shoot without stopping every 2 seconds?

That's only ONE of the reasons that CA sucks.. And it's also the reason why I have trunion protectors in my guns and only run steel links.

My cloth belt loader gives me something to look forward to using once I get moved up to NV.

For now I try and look at the bright side - I'm an expert at FAST reloads on the 1919a4 - I don't even mess with the top-cover. I just stuff the belt past the holding pawl and rack'er twice.

Get some starter tabs, then you can just pull the next belt through...

well, i can stuff 22 x 10 round linked belts into one ammo can - so thats 44 bucks worth of starters per can plus shipping. I will keep a few for my desert days, but other than that its not really worth it. Its not so hard to load em anyways - especially with the m2a4 mount to rest on.

Hold on Duti let me kill it for you.... :50cal:

Well since I built Slicks cloth belt loader I'm just going to run my 100 round belts so now they can really bite me... I'm so glad I keep running into these things buried in my garage... I'm sure if I dig deep enough or when I move I'll run across the 250 rounders.... :headbang:

Kali,

that was apathetic attempt to kill a thread, you should be ashamed of yourself!!

in order to properly kill a thread, you must take the reader on a round-a-bout of totally different or irrelevant information to the original subject.

see......................................... thats how its done.
