I ordered a couple of M2HB's (still sounds sweet)
"I called my FFl to give him a heads up they were coming in. When they (it) arrived he bout had a coronary. The guys wife is spouting out how they can "take out airliners & such", I calmly explained that these were no worse than .22s for that project. Anyway, our 10+ year relationship is probably in the Shi*ter. But.....I got my deuces!!!! or will have.
How can we expect to win the war on the second when it is soooo easy to divide & conquer. That man does not stand a chance...."
Is this more common than I think, or an isolated case.
I read on the 1919a4 forum that some people are having problems with other gun owners at the range. We have experienced that also. I've said this to every one that I introduce to the 1919's & .50s, If the public is sportin' a woody over what an AK can do, what do you think the media would do with video of a MG shoot or the 1919's in action? We must be careful about our image and attempt to bring others into our cult/circle instead of aggressively defending ourselves or worse yet responding in an inappropriate way that will alienate more people from our side.

You'd think they would be more concerned with Bench Shooters. Those are the guys who pratice putting 5 shots in a group you can hide under a dime at 200yds.. What do they need THAT kind of accracy for  ...Lou

And Lou has a very good point... for the past 60 years we have not really had a lot of folks that are truely skilled with bolt action rifles like we did back in the forties for which thats basically all they had and they had to make every shot count...
Now the governments are creating what I think is the most deadly gun owner with all the various bans etc. etc....the highly accurate one... I was watching a program about a month ago about the Vietnam era and the kill ratio was much higher from a GI's Remington 700 vs. the M-16 ... Go figure huh...
Well I guess those government folks are doing a great job then... Because we all know ammo may get scarce in the coming years and training like that will make it go a long way... :peep:

ironic..part of my conversation with Ms FFl went like this. "... so how do you feel about sniper rifles? her response was that there was no need for them either. I let her know that she just condemned all hunting rifles. She thinks I am being silly. If she had her way, her husband would have to close his shop. But, I'm being silly.
Oh, and the bench rest shooters are always at the range when we fired up the 1919's . Our approach was to invite them to check it out, ask questions and shoot it... That worked, they may not be interested in one themselves, but they appreciate the respect we have shown them and do not give us a hard time. If anything, I've seen them explaining to others what we have .....we are all in the same glass lifeboat gentlemen.

yeah now back to those bench rest shooters... They are the first one to acuse one of my fellow belt fed or 50 shootin' brothers for shooting at the telephone poles we have in the ground to hang targets between... They claim we saw the things in half.... :banghead: Its funny when I go out to the range guess who's tearing up the range the benchrest shooters shooting at waterbottles on my stringers and poles...
So you ask what do I do about that... I load a belt and chew up some dirt and obscure there targets for a while most of those guys are as old as the hills and you'd think they would have a little respect because they are not the ones that are going to have to rebuild the range its all us 30/40 somethin's... Now that could just be a California thing but the way I was raised and taught to shoot was not to destroy my range... Okay enough with my rant...
:horse:
Enough with the escape goats shooters band together or lose them forever.... :headbang:
