Does anyone here know or have ever seen any articles or anything about any violation, convictions, etc on 922r. Is this really enforceable........K
I have never heard a story about a conviction from a 922r violation. That doesn't mean that it isn't enforceable. Always keep your guns in compliance! I myself like to be more than compliant. I generally run more than the required # of US parts, and I never let a mag count towards compliance.

good idea Cope.
i aim for as many parts US as i can.... but sometimes the US mag has to help me out....
is it enforceable??? well if they want to take your gun and make you prove your right. YES
but just as a walk around rule?? its gonna be very tough to enforce for the home builder.
now if your at a public range with RO's..... who know anything?? then it could be a lot of explaining.
just not worth the hassle.
if you have any trouble meeting compliance parts on your builds just PM one of us or stop by WeaponsGuild.com for a list for your particular weapon.

I haven't heard of any enforcement of it but... I'd have to think it difficult... I've bought supposed U.S. parts that were not stamped some years back from places like Tapco etc. etc. and now sometimes you'll see them say there stamped U.S. and sometimes it won't... One instance of a gas rod for a Fal from tapco it wasn't stamped now from my knowledge DSA offers one that is... So I suppose in the case of something not being stamped you should hold onto your receipts...
Personally I'd think it would be a mistake if they ever tried to enforce it as it would create a whole new ball of wax.

yeah ive got tons of US made parts that are not stamped.....
and plenty of parts that i make myself that are not stamped or i could go stamp them and then still no way to prove that they are mine...
of course no way to prove they are not unless they have a foriegn mark on them...
now if your at a public range with RO's..... who know anything?? then it could be a lot of explaining.
Public ranges are the reason that I don't like to use mags for compliance. I rarely shoot at a public range, but it would be my luck to insert the wrong mag, and have a range nazi come flying over causing a big fuss.
There are alot of compliance parts around that are not stamped. Alot of times the only way to tell is by looking at the slight differences in machining. Century built a metric shitload of AK's with there pistons, and the only to tell there piston from an import is by the # of rings at the top.
I have also bought unstamped USA brand magazines that have been rumored to be nothing more than repackaged surplus.

Same here - on my current FAL build... The best bet is to keep all your receipts stapled onto your receiver's transfer paperwork. For example, my FAL has a US-made barrel (by DSA that is unmarked) as well as numerous other US-made parts. If I ever get messed with, I’ll be bringing all my paperwork to court to show that I bought and used US-made parts. The parts descriptions are accurate enough that it’s easy to tell that the parts match what’s on the receipts.
Heck, I never transport my 1919a4 without having laminated copies of the BATF letters, State DOJ letter, and my dealer-transfer + sales receipt in the case with the gun..
Always better to be safe than sorry!

Laminate it too!! It helps keep your paperwork from getting all loused up and IMHO, helps show (whoever needs to see it) that you're serious about being on the up & up.
