Shorty Barrel and Shroud

Who makes a good short barrel and shroud? I'm looking for something around 16.5", and in .30-06.

Also, what size does the booster need to be opened up to?

i got my shorty shroud and barrels from john mcguire.

The shroud is beautiful, i dont think its a cut down a4 shroud, i think its a new pipe that has been worked over to become a shroud. It was 75 bucks by itself. I have not put it on yet since i dont have a bar big enough to wrench my old one off (its in storage in phx).

I also had John mill down 2 barrels for me, i believe it is 16.5". To mill down a barrel is 50 bucks per barrel.

I did have the pleasure of using george w's JM shorty setup on my gun last time i was at LC shoot - worked great and sounded mean, alot louder than the full length barrel.

Youll have to email JM to see if he has any shrouds, but he will chop down the barrel no problem.

Yeah, I checked with Ordnance Research last week, and they didn't have any. I guess I will get John to do it.

Where can I get some barrels for a decent price? I know Mr. John has the new chrome lined ones, but they are a little pricy for me.
