first as mentioned in another thread:
for Sherman to do your conversion you need to send him:
SKS complete FCG
your ppsh FCG
your PPSH lower
your ppsh bolt and rod/recoil spring
and of course $400
now for some pix:

im going to give you a bottom shot of the bolt, but not give you Shermans numbers as this would not be fair when he did all the heavy lifting on this.....

firing pins, springs and the difference between the original designs and Shermans custom stuff....

http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h18/dutigaf/bolt.jpg
oh and a pic of the blocking rail for those who were worried.......
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h18/dutigaf/blockingrail.jpg
this should be more than enough to get anyone started with a build and if you need more info Sherman is the man... im just a garage builder who works off of other peoples talents and skills.
fire away.
oh and that one bolt picture up there was of the set up that was originally sold to me by a company who also is now very fond of Shermans configuration.... see the difference in the original bolt and Shermans version?? the mass is WAY different in Shermans favor.
Man, that's nice looking!

Hey... Duti... is your gun over 30"? I really like the subguns in wood they always look top notch... Where'd you get your kit and don't the shrouds have to be welded back up... Anyones kits the guys should stay away from...

Kali,
i'll measure it tonite but im pretty sure its just a hair over it....
as to the kits:
i dont like any of the new kits out there.. cut trunnions and drilled barrels.
like the old demills intact trunnions and only the front end cut. those are the best.
running around $350 for a good kit.
$50 for the repair section
$400 for the Sherman conversion
$50 for the sks FCG
its not cheap to build but you cant buy it for that.....and it works flawlessly.
