:wow: Hay guys ,i was looking up all off this crap i didn't know ,but all i have got to do is remove my Ordnance Rifle tube ,from its #3 Carriage ,and a Field Howitzer will fit right on it  . 800 pounds , 58.6 long ,1/2in liner,Ductile iron ,3.5 or 4.5 bore ( smooth ) , and sense i have bought from Susan ,she says $5.200.00. I got an email from her and she said she wondered when i would snap to this ,but i kept bugging her about a Mt.Howitzer. My Ord ,rifle is 850 lbs. 72in long ,and Susan said the muzzle will clear the wheels by 4 in. Trunnions are the same diameter and distance apart. Still a very big gun ,but look the F$$k out , Make a hole boys I'm coming through. Allen you want to buy an Ord Rifle tube real cheap?

It's a shame you can't keep the Ord. rifle and be able to swap it back when the need to really reach out might come up. and you could always invest in another carriage later.

Hey Phalanx do you check your pm's?

OH i will keep it,i was just joshing. Too cool ,i can swap the two tubes out .
The Rifle does have a demoralizing effect at 1/2 a mile with its 12inch max ,groups ,and the fact i have had it go through 4in. of cement. The Old Timers tell me to get away from a canister a minimum bore needs to be 4in. using 44 or 50 cal balls. They still need to be wrapped in some sort of cluster ,some of them use the sticky Saran wrap ,or foil. Most use the foil,Grant or Lee would have loved foil. Back in the old days it was burlap bags ,tied tightly ,and a wooden plate between that and the charge.
