Its not a sickness but a state of mind........ I was there once, 100 guns, 35 hand guns 65 long arms from Flint to modern. all it takes is money.........
because of what it takes I have not been able to reproduce what I used to have. maybe someday.

My big hope (and plan) is that when I re-locate OUT OF CA, I'm going to get a home that has a nice basement. I'm going to build-out a section with vault-quality walls and a real vault door so that I can have a walk-in vault to hang all the guns on the walls like that.

I'll also stock it (with MRE's) as a "safe room" and use it as a blast shelter if need be.

Nice Collection 1919_4_ME,

Have you ever been over to the 6th Division site?(1:6th scale stuff)

You don't see too many AT-4 rounds like the one over your door, I missed one about 10 years ago, I've got one of those radio controlled M5's also, my wifes cats hate it! always thought it would be fun to "up-gun" it but ATF would have a cow! could you imagine grown men running around with radio controlled tanks that could shoot for real! :tank: I'v got to get the back office cleared out so I can get a few shots.

Kabar,
Hey thanks.
I havent been over to the 6th division yet site yet?Gotta link?
Yea those AT-4 rockets are very hard to come by and I got lucky on that one.I've focused more onto the rockets tubes since those pics and just got an RPG-2 and RPG-7 tube with rockets of course.I love the things and cant wait to get them up on the wall for display.
Hey those M5 Stuarts are awesome and theres quite a few modifcations you can do top them now.Ones a full blow paintball conversion for the turret along with steel upgrade parts for the drivetrain, bigger motors and sound upgrades. This ones pretty cool as the sound is control by the motor servo.Have a listen..... :coffee:

Had some guys that were really interested in giving me those things for free, every time I would fly into Bagram or into the Khowst valley they would keep throwing them to me but they must suck at throwing because I never got one, oh and I guess they wanted to keep the launchers too because they never threw them!

Don't know if your into these but Colemans has a CBU-58 and they also have some M-856 projectiles and M735 projectiles for what seems a resonable cost.

Hey its not the size of your collection its how you use it...:big: I don't know I'd love to have walls filled full of NFA stuff a lot of these guys that do had the forethought to get it while it was available and to boot got really nice quality samples... Had they not perhaps we wouldn't even be seeing them in pictures...

Whether its a Semi Auto or Full Auto when you give a person the chance to use a piece of equipment that is a unique as what we are interested in and collect that is the true definition of a collection... Cause if you don't see it and its static... Why have it right...

Thats just an Izzy A6 kit (the legs are USGI to get it higher), takes 5 minutes to put it on. I got the 308 A6 adapter from Rich, but use it on a AA tripod. The drum holds 50 rnds so it saves ammo.

Man CLP you got a nice little collection going there... I used to have a lot more than what I have now one of these days here soon I'll have to pull all my gear out and shoot a pic after I clean em... I've built so many guns over the years they tend to get sold off because I run out of room in my safe... and I get bored with them... It's a wonder I still have my AK's I don't even shoot them... Right now the safes filled up with the beltfeds and my project parts...:thinkin:

Well if you are shooting NATO 7.62 your probably out of luck with the USGI M-6 flash hider, I haven't seen an issue one for 308 yet.

The problem is the 308 booster has a much smaller orifice than does the 30-06 and you would have to either weld the orifice up and redrill or make a drilled plug to weld in the hole, both ways a PITA to do.

HOWEVER if you are shooting 30-06 (as is only proper) all you have to do is pull off your old booster and bearing and screw on the flash hider, the M-6 replaces all the bits up front.
Iron Creations has them in-stock for 60 clams.

http://shop.ironcreationsllc.com/category.sc?categoryId=95

Another solution if your shooting 308 would be to put this really cool clamp on flash suppressor for 35 bucks, (which Iron Creations also stocks) they look really sweet! I will probably pick one up to go along with the Colt style barrel shroud that GR5150 sold me. That would be an awesome pair.

The other photos are a great help in looking at the ways to stack, store, rack, hang for display and access. This does not cover the two gun safes with the ones that are two expensive to leave out.

With a limited amount of space one is given by those who rule, but at least I did get a room.

Question gents,

Is there any merit in creating an actual museum of sorts for someones private collection so other enthusiasts may have access to viewing them? Maybe charge a few bucks to let folks in to help out with the overhead? Do you think people would bother with it in this day and age? In New York it's a different world than out west and in the south. Just wondering your thoughts. We stopped at a guys place in South Dakota when we were riding near Sturgis who had built a beautiful place to display his personal collection of military pieces and it got me thinking - I didn't mind at all dropping a few bucks to see that stuff.
