This was passed on to me from a great guy over at Gunco..

its a list of the foreign parts that you can change out to get 922R compliant.

if anyone has anything different please share!

The 16 countable parts in a AK with a muzzle device.

(1) Receiver
(2) Barrel*
(3) Trunnion*
(4) Muzzle attachments
(5) Bolt*
(6) Bolt carrier*
(7) Gas piston
(8) Trigger
(9) Hammer
(10) Disconnecter
(11) Buttstock
(12) Pistol grip
(13) Forearm handguards
(14) Magazine body
(15) Follower
(16) Floorplate

To the best of my knowledge, the 4 parts marked with the * are only available Imported.
No more than 10 of the parts on this list, may be Imported, the rest must be of US mfg

****note it says trunnion, this is a big debate as the front is a trunnion, the rear one is actually called a "stock tang" or "mounting block".

this was also news to me. good news that is.

some people will disagree with that, but it is a now proven point at AK files and Gunco.

Thats a good post, so many people and even business's are confused or outright wrong on what they know about 922r.

I see so many times they reference or imply you have to have so many American parts like "this part counts as part of the US parts count"

Its simple in practice, 10 is the max number of specified foreign components on the gun, not x number of US parts.

Now once you leave this part of 922r nothing is clear, written in typical governmentese to make sure your confused.

Does anybody have any idea what the hell this is supposed to do? What the fuck is the purpose of this 922r crap anyways?

I think that right there is the main purpose bud - to confuse the "little people" and then be able to enforce said rules in different ways, whatever way it takes to interpret to fuck you over. I say the same thing over most gun laws we have - especially in CA.

well it winds up that i have 8 foreign parts in my build... and that was with minimal effort.

when i built the first one and didnt understand jack shit about this.... was thingking how in the hell do you have less than 10 foreign parts.

555th and Max along with big Al and Bluejack all gave me lots of information with out bashing a noob. very cool guys.

Whats even better, according to the gestapo, if you take an American gun, say a Remington 700, and use one of the foreign parts on the list, then your whole rifle is subject to 922r and other import gun restrictions.

Just another hunk of crap brought to you by some non elected Bureaucrat!
