My friend Felix wanted me to ask you a few questions about a gun that he has. I dont really know the story but apparently he has a gun that someone wants to buy from him for like 3-4 thousand. I thought that maybe you might know how to find its true value.
1997 S&W Model 625 with a 6" barrel. s/n 0007 (RH side) CTG stamped.
Ill try to get a picture up tomorrow - as soon as he gets one to me.

They're chambered for either .45acp or .45colt Do you know which one his uses?
There are alot of variations in S&W revolvers and only the 625-8, 625-9, and 625-10 are on the CA approved list.
They usually sell for 800.00 or better new, so an odd variation might very well sell for more to the right collector, especially in CA where we're not allowed to import the 'unsafe' models (pre-lock) We're stuck with finding a private party already in CA willing to sell.
You might want to check out the S&W forums for more info on a particular model/style:

I'm not to sure about that model... but I know the 627 8 shots are getting about 1500 because there out of production... I know there are some 7 shot variants out there too... So like Mr. Kubota says he might possibly have a variant or possibly the S/N is demanding the price the fact that its a low number
