The one I saw in future weapons looked like a barrett 82... At least I'm pretty sure it was a semi auto... maybe not....

i dont think i could ever afford a barret, so if armalite or someone comes out with it maybe i can get one of them. Being there is no surplus i wonder how much ammo gonna be :peep: probably put the current 50cal prices to shame.

The ammo is running right at $5 per round and unless other manufacturers jump on the wagon I doubt this round will go anywhere.

Now if you think that's high priced... Steyr has been selling their HS50 rifle in .460 Steyr which is another wildcatted .50 BMG round like the .416 Barrett with no ammo on the market! The other day AAA Ammunition posted that they had ammo available to the tune of $9 a round!!!

I guy that I know who bought one paid almost 1K for forming dies to make ammo for it, OUCH!

Oh well, two more cartridges doomed to failure.

Hmmm... So what your saying is I should sell my .416 barrett dies... Naw... I'm kinda a wildcat guy anyway... So why me worry?

From what I understand Barrett has found a mfgr. to keep up with a supply of ammunition and reloading components...

Well I was reading over at Barrett forum that they did find a supplier to supply there loaded .416 ammo and would be available in the late fall. Also Barrett would be offering components such as brass & pills for the reloaders out there.Seems though right now they have a powder supply problem.W'ell have to see how this turns out cause the round does look promising.
