This is a quick picture tutorial on how to install your 1919 AA Tripod adapter and T&E mechanism onto your AA Tripod. Its very easy to do and only take a few minutes.
Ok lets have a look at the pieces below...
First up here are the three pieces you will need to make the 1919 shooting platform. Pictured below is:
(1) German MG3 AA Tripod
(1) 1919 AA Tripod Adapter
(1) 1919 AA T&E mechanism

In this pic you can see the MG3 AA Tripod Pintle Yoke fully extended. To do this you will need to depress the button near the bottom of the pinlte shaft. In some cases these buttons might be stuck from years of storage so a quick tap from a rubber mallet should free it up.Once the button is depressed you can fully extend the pintle shaft until you hear it "Click" into the locked position.

Next you will need to run a 1/2' drill bit through the existing AA Tripod pintle yoke. These holes are metric and are slightly under 1/2' so they will have to be opened up a little. You may need to lock the AA Tripod pintle shaft into a vise so you can drill it out carefully.Pic shown after drilling.

Next install the T&E base clamp onto the base of the pintle shaft.

Using an allen wrench tighten the bolts a little to where you can still move the T&E base clamp freely.
